Online service shift to ease hassle
The introduction of additional online transactions will make life easier for Eyre Peninsula residents, with Service SA expanding its services.
After significant lobbying by Member for Flinders Peter Treloar, the Flinders electorate office received a progress update, noting changes that will make it easier for those living outside the regional hub of Port Lincoln.
“I am pleased the Government has taken my concerns on board, and these changes are a step in the right direction,” Mr Treloar said.
“Ultimately, it should make it easier for those living in rural and remote locations to access services, without making the trip to Port Lincoln, in some cases hundreds of kilometres.”
The changes include Service SA accepting scanned, emailed and faxed documents to amend vehicle registrations during harvest seasons.
Progress has also been made in terms of Service SA’s Moving Online initiative, which involves expanding the range of transactions available. New transactions, including vehicle transfers and registration cancellations, will be available online in the future.
Furthermore, work is continuing with other Government agencies to identify co-location opportunities in regional Australia.
“My Port Lincoln and Ceduna offices receive numerous concerns about the difficulties involved with dealing with Service SA. I am pleased they are taking my concerns on board and putting in place measures which will streamline processes for Eyre Peninsula people,” Mr Treloar said.
