Update – Emergency services facility cost blowout
The supplementary report of the Auditor-General released this week is scathing of the Rann Labor Government’s management of the emergency services sector.
“The report reveals that the Port Lincoln SES and CFS project cost had blown out by $1.415 million, on a project estimated to cost around $3 million – nearly a 50 per cent blow out,” Liberal Member for Flinders Peter Treloar said today.
“This is a very poor reflection on the Rann Government’s track record when it comes to delivering projects on budget.
“The people of Flinders and our all-important volunteers appreciate this state-of-the-art emergency services facility, but what they don’t need is the waste of their taxpayer dollars.
To provide answers to the public for the cost blowout the Crown Solicitor’s Government Investigations Unit is carrying out an investigation into the management of the new CFS and SES and MFS co-located facility.
